London, TOWER Cold Chain Solutions, innovative providers of cold-chain packaging solutions to the life-science supply chain industry, is delighted to confirm that Niall Balfour is appointed Chief Executive Officer

Commenting on his appointment Balfour, previously Managing Director, said “TOWER is uniquely placed in a fast-moving and highly-competitive life-science marketplace and I’m delighted to take up this position to deliver the true potential of TOWER and its product range. The company achieved >300% sales growth over the last 30 months and this cash injection will enable our team to further support our growing client base.”

Niall Balfour joined TOWER four years ago after two decades working across the pharmaceutical industry from R&D, to clinical and the specialist logistics sector.

“Now we can turn to our customer base, which already includes many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, with real confidence and present ourselves as serious strategic partners” said Balfour.

Balfour succeeds Chris Pollard, CEO for the past eight years, who remains a director of the company with a brief to support Niall and his team. Pollard commented, “It was a significant moment for TOWER when it was able to recruit Niall four years ago, and he has played a central role in the development of the company since then. I am delighted to hand on the baton to him and look forward to working with him as this exciting story unfolds.”

With Investec’s Private Capital team working directly alongside the TOWER board as equity partners to inject new capital and fund a 400% expansion of TOWER’s stock of containers, TOWER can look to the future with promise, not just in the domestic market, but globally as well.  Trend-wise, product-wise, culture-wise, sustainability-wise it seems a lot of things are pointing in the right direction.
