Air Cargo Week Q&A
Niall Balfour, Chief Executive Officer at Tower Cold Chain sat down with Air Cargo Week to discuss digitalisation in the cold chain industry.
Q. What has demand been like for Tower products this year?
A. The demand for Tower’s cold chain containers has been strong this year across our global hub network and we anticipate this continuing into 2022 and beyond. Growth has been driven both due to the pandemic and demand for effective temperature sensitive controlled solutions in the pharmaceutical supply chain and other life-science goods, with requirements for our full and sub pallet shipments from our KT Tower and KTM Tower containers.
The opening of our new global headquarters this year in Theale has greatly expanded our container conditioning and storage capacities as we grow to meet customer demand, as well as enhancing our design, laboratory and testing capabilities in the development of robust, reliable and reusable temperature-controlled pharmaceutical supply chain solutions.
In addition, the launch of the Tower Airline Handling Manual this year has also ensured that we have been able to support and train our customers in the “new” virtual world we live in, and our local teams have continued to work closely with our customers to effectively integrate Tower’s solutions within their existing supply chain processes.
